That describes the learned behavior the Democrat constituents have picked up from the party and their pied piper media. They dare not tiptoe near where the truth can be found.
Many of us remember easier and quieter times, many years ago. Those were especially common in smaller towns, where neighbors were truly neighbors. Folks would leave windows open in their homes, resting in the assurance that if the rains came, the neighbor would close the windows.
If a family was out of town, neighbors would often mow the yards of the family next door, or gather the vegetables and such from the garden. There were times when the child, or children would have to spend a few days and nights with friends while their parents were away.
And yes, neighbors were allowed to discipline the children. And if a child was disciplined in school, there would be more awaiting them when they arrived back home.
Fast-forward 50-60 years.
Today, even in the rural areas, houses are jammed together, most with a narrow splotch of ground between them. Neighbors know nothing about one another, unless they’ve taken the time and effort to do so.
In these days of bitterness and contention, one needs to be careful as to what kind of signs, bumper stickers, vanity plates, sports caps, jerseys, political choices, etc. that you display. As trivial as those above, it’s enough to land you in the ER, or even a morgue somewhere.
Back in the day, things seemed easier and safer, because, well, they were. And in my opinion, this was due to old fashioned accountability. There was no such thing as “let’s have a family meeting and vote on it” foolishness. Usually, accountability was brought to bear rather quickly. And the guilty party had no opportunity to bargain!
The accountability today is mostly hot air. As an example, look at all these Tesla automobiles being destryoyed. People in the streets, behaving like they’ve escaped from an insane asylum…or maybe a democratic convention somewhere.
There is a boiling point, and there is a truism to back it up.
If these people who are adapting to this learned behavior continue, there will be an ugly ending.
